MANILA, Philippines — January 25, 2026
The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) on Saturday received 15 rescued Filipino seafarers and two deceased crew members of the cargo vessel M/V Devon Bay following a coordinated turnover operation with the China Coast Guard (CCG).
The transfer was conducted approximately 168 nautical miles west of Tambobong, Pangasinan, amid rough sea conditions. Due to high waves in the area, both coast guards utilized rigid-hull inflatable boats to safely carry out the personnel transfer between vessels.
The remains of the two deceased crew members were formally turned over to the PCG and will undergo proper disposition in close coordination with relevant authorities and the families of the victims.
