According to the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA), 335 marine incidents involving domestic commercial vessels were reported between January and March 2026. Of these, 44 were classified as serious incidents, while one was recorded as a very serious incident. The reports covered a wide range of vessel operations across Australian waters.

AMSA said the reported cases included vessel groundings, flooding, equipment failures, collisions, and other operational incidents. The authority noted that these reports help identify safety risks and support efforts to improve safe operations throughout the maritime industry.
