ALFONSO, CAVITE — Virtue Maritime Services Corp. (VMSC) and Virtue Maritime Shipmanagement Corp. brought their people together for the Strategic Planning Workshop 2026, held from August 14–16 at Pintoresco, Barangay Esperanza Ilaya, Alfonso, Cavite. Anchored on the theme “One Team. One Virtue. One Mission,” the three-day gathering combined strategic thinking, teamwork, fellowship, and meaningful activities intended to strengthen the organization and its people.
The workshop opened with a review of the company’s operational accomplishments and challenges, followed by a SWOT analysis, the identification of strategic issues, risks, and opportunities, and discussions of departmental challenges and areas for improvement. Teams then consolidated their observations and presented their findings, creating a common understanding of where Virtue Maritime stands and where it needs to go next.
Day 2 shifted the focus from assessment to action, with the team working on functional objectives, KPI development, measurable scorecards, performance evaluation enhancements, and one-year strategic goals for 2027 under the theme “Delivering Operational Excellence.” The afternoon turned toward the company’s longer-term direction, with discussions of three-year strategic goals for 2028–2030, under the theme “Building the Future of VMSC.”
True to that theme, the team left the planning room on 15 August for a tree-planting activity in Ildefonso, Cavite. With sleeves rolled up and hands in the soil, employees worked together to plant trees, share smiles, and enjoy a different kind of teamwork. It was a simple but meaningful indication that building the future is not only about business plans—it is also about caring for the environment and the communities around us. The program flow intentionally placed the tree planting alongside long-term strategic planning activities, making the connection between future planning and taking action even more meaningful.
The afternoon continued with the TEAM VIRTUE CHALLENGE, carrying the message “One TEAM. One Virtue. One Mission,” followed by a fellowship night where the team could relax, connect, and enjoy each other’s company. These occasions added a personal aspect to the workshop, showing that while strategies and KPIs are important, strong organizations are ultimately built by people who trust, support, and work with one another.
On the final day, the teams translated the discussions into departmental action plans, finalizing one-year and three-year goals, responsibilities, and deliverables. The workshop concluded with a wrap-up message, accountability ownership, and a photo session in Virtue blue. As the team returned to the office, they carried more than a list of goals—they carried a fresh sense of purpose, enhanced connections, and a common commitment to turn plans into action. One Team. One Virtue. One Mission.
