The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) continues to strengthen its workforce as part of efforts to improve services for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families. The agency said having enough trained and dedicated personnel is important in responding to the needs of Filipino workers abroad and those returning home.

A total of 25 newly appointed and promoted OWWA personnel took their oath of office during the agency’s Flag Raising Ceremony. The oath-taking was led by OWWA Administrator Patricia Yvonne “PY” M. Caunan, marking the start of new duties and added responsibilities for the employees.

OWWA said the appointments and promotions are part of efforts to improve the agency’s ability to provide faster, more efficient, and responsive services. A stronger workforce is expected to help the agency assist OFWs throughout different stages of their overseas employment, including welfare concerns, return to the Philippines, and reintegration with their families.

As a partner agency of the Department of Migrant Workers, OWWA continues to invest in its personnel and internal capacity. The agency said strengthening its workforce is part of its continuing effort to provide reliable support and assistance to OFWs and their families in the Philippines and abroad.
