The Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) continues the processing and release of Seafarer’s Identification Documents (SID) and Seafarer’s Record Books (SRB) at its Central Office as part of efforts to address the documentation needs of Filipino seafarers.

Among those who received their SID on September 2 was seafarer Yan Ladop, who applied through the expedited process. Ladop described the transaction as smooth, saying he submitted his application in the morning and was able to receive his document later the same day. He also encouraged fellow seafarers to remain patient while MARINA works to address the situation.

MARINA resumed the processing of expedited SID and SRB applications at its Central Office on September 1, 2026. The process covers application screening up to the issuance of the actual SID card and SRB booklet.

For regular applications, MARINA said processing will continue through batch printing. Documents under the regular application process are expected to be released approximately one week after processing. The agency continues to monitor operations to maintain the orderly and continuous delivery of SID and SRB services to seafarers.
