Turkish authorities are searching for 10 crew members who went missing after a cargo ship sank following a collision in the Sea of Marmara, off Istanbul. The Turkish-flagged cargo vessel Tugberk Imamoglu collided with another Turkish-flagged vessel, Alsu, about 18 nautical miles south of Silivri. Tugberk Imamoglu reportedly sank within minutes of the collision.

All 10 crew members aboard Tugberk Imamoglu, including the captain, were reported missing. Search teams recovered an empty lifeboat, life rings, and debris believed to have come from the sunken vessel. No crew members had been found as of the latest available update.

Turkish authorities deployed Coast Guard, Navy, and disaster response units to conduct an extensive search of the area. Several vessels, helicopters, drones, an aircraft, and a naval vessel equipped for underwater search operations were sent to assist. Search and rescue efforts remain underway in the surrounding waters.

The other vessel involved in the collision, Alsu, remained anchored off Silivri and reportedly sustained no major damage. Authorities have opened an investigation into the cause and circumstances of the collision, with navigation, radar, communication, and other available records expected to be examined as part of the investigation.
